What Reddox Reviews

Reddox is designed to review a broad range of commercial and legal documents. The platform currently supports the following document types:

  • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
  • Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
  • Operating Agreements
  • Lease Agreements (commercial and residential)
  • Employment Agreements
  • Loan Agreements
  • Amendments and Addenda
  • Statements of Work (SOWs)
  • Side Letters
  • Purchase Agreements
  • Intellectual Property Assignment Agreements
  • Licensing Agreements

This list is not exhaustive and continues to grow as we expand our coverage. If you have a document type not listed above, you are welcome to try it. Reddox will attempt to review any contract-style document, though results may vary for highly specialized or uncommon formats.

How Review Works

When you submit a document for review, Reddox reads the full text of the document using AI. The system then applies either a default playbook or your custom instructions to evaluate the document against standard or specified criteria.

The output is a set of tracked changes inserted directly into your Word document, along with comments explaining the reasoning behind each suggested edit. Each suggestion includes a confidence rating that indicates how certain the AI is about that particular recommendation. Higher confidence ratings reflect stronger alignment with established legal standards or your custom playbook rules.

Document Format Requirements

Reddox works exclusively with Microsoft Word documents in the .docx format. Documents must be opened in Microsoft Word for desktop using the Reddox Office Add-in. The add-in is available through the Microsoft Office Add-in store and integrates directly into the Word ribbon.

The following formats are not supported:

  • PDF files
  • Google Docs (documents must be exported to .docx first)
  • Legacy .doc format files (must be converted to .docx)
  • Word Online (the desktop application is required)

Accuracy and Limitations

Reddox uses advanced AI models to analyze contract language, but no AI system is perfect. The platform may occasionally miss subtle nuances in language, fail to account for jurisdiction-specific requirements, or misinterpret ambiguous provisions.

Confidence ratings are provided with each suggestion to help users gauge the reliability of individual recommendations. A high confidence rating means the AI has strong evidence to support its suggestion, while a lower rating indicates that the recommendation may warrant closer review.

Documents containing complex tables, nested exhibits, or unusual formatting may require additional manual review. While Reddox handles most standard document structures well, edge cases involving deeply nested content or unconventional layouts may produce less reliable results.

Not Legal Advice

Reddox is a software tool, not a law firm, and it does not provide legal advice. All outputs generated by Reddox, including tracked changes, comments, and suggestions, are provided as recommendations only. They are not a substitute for the professional judgment of a qualified attorney.

An attorney must review all changes suggested by Reddox before accepting them into a final document. Users are solely responsible for the decisions they make based on Reddox's output. Reddox assumes no liability for actions taken in reliance on its suggestions.

Unsupported Document Types

Reddox is not designed to process the following types of content:

  • Handwritten documents or contracts
  • Scanned images without OCR processing (the text must be machine-readable)
  • Spreadsheets (Excel, CSV, or similar formats)
  • Presentations (PowerPoint or similar formats)
  • Non-English documents (support for additional languages is planned for future releases)

Attempting to process unsupported document types may result in errors or incomplete output. If you are unsure whether your document is supported, contact our team before submitting.

Feature-Specific Scope

Certain Reddox features have additional scope requirements:

  • Reference document comparison: This feature requires you to upload a template or reference document in addition to the contract under review. The AI compares the two documents and highlights deviations from your preferred language.
  • Deal context: Providing related documents (such as a term sheet, prior draft, or correspondence) allows Reddox to apply broader context to its review. The quality of contextual suggestions depends on the relevance and completeness of the materials provided.
  • Playbooks:Default playbooks reflect general best practices. You can create and customize your own playbooks to align with your firm's standards, preferred positions, or client-specific requirements.
